The Galactic Civil War on Bloodfin - A Narrative (Bloodfin)
(Author's Note: Slicksith and others are good with videos - I've always been a writer. To pay tribute to the players of Bloodfin as the NGE slowly kills what remains of the original community in the game, I have written a History of the GCW on Bloodfin. My goal is to remind people of how things once were on the server, and provide those who come after we have gone with a written history of the way things used to be. Its written in my usual Epic Roleplay Carebear style, so forgive me if I stretch the Star Wars Canon to fit what happened in the game. I also apologize to those who may be forgotten, and I have done my best - unlike in most of my other writings - to be as objective as possible. I hope you all enjoy this walk down memory lane, and my apologies to Shelby Foote for ripping off his style.)
PROLOGUE - THE PLAYERS
They came from all around the galaxy. Thousands of them: hunters and tradesmen, physicians and fighters, even remnants of the Jedi order, still scattered after the Emperor's treachery. They chose their sides: either joining in the Empire's quest to restore order and peace to the galaxy, or signing on with the Rebel Alliance as they attempted to overthrow the iron fist of Palpatine and Vader's regime. Some stayed neutral, playing both sides against the other and enriching themselves in the process.
No matter where they came from, they were united by virtue of the fact that they all played their roles in the same place - Bloodfin. And for every individual, group or organization named in this brief history of the Civil War, there were hundreds and thousands who came and went, hunted and fought, and lived their lives without gracing the holonets or becoming household names. It is to those many thousands that this history is dedicated. Without them, the epic battles, daily struggles and years of memories would be empty of value.
As this chapter in Bloodfin's history seems to be drawing to a close, as a memorial to those who lived it, and a history for those who will come after, the author has taken a few moments to chronicle some of the highlights of the Galactic Civil War as it was fought here. This history is by no means complete, and the author hopes that those who have memories will add them here and let us all remember.
OPENING MOVES - ANCHORHEAD
This history begins with the destruction of the Death Star and the scattering of the Rebel Alliance out across the galaxy. Luke Skywalker, hero of the day, is rumored to have remain on Yavin 4, searching for lost remnants of the Jedi Order. Other Rebels had taken up positions across the galaxy, hoping to evade the Emperor and Darth Vader's net, which they cast as widely as possible.
Because of the intense scrutiny placed on the Rebellion by the Empire at this point, much of the fighting between the Rebels and the Imperials was small, dust ups on Outer Rim planets, often fought by squads of ten to twenty, and even fewer in some locations. The focus was not on the core worlds, like Coruscant, but on the outer rim planets - desolate wastes such as Lok and Dathomir. Imperial and Rebel special forces teams, sanctioned by their respective governments, began forming to take the fight to each other.
Nowhere was the Galactic Civil War fought harder in the opening days of this new campaign than Anchorhead. Lying within easy reach of the Imperial stronghold of Bestine, and boasting both a shuttleport and an active cell of Rebel sympathizers, Anchorhead quickly became the flashpoint of the GCW. Rebels, who were conscious to remain covert in other locations across the Galaxy, openly flaunted their affiliations here, and were quick to attack any Imperial who wandered into the town. This often sparked massive back and forth battles, with dozens of Rebels and Imperials all fighting against one another, with the wounded and worse recovering quickly from the cloning facilities and returning to the fight.
In those days, both the Rebel and Imperial forces were poorly equipped and lacked the skills that they would gain later through hard work and experience. As a result, often the battles in Anchorhead were battles of attrition, where the side with the largest numbers would frequently prevail, until the other side was able to call in sufficient reinforcements to shift the tide.
But it didn't take long for the most dedicated troops to begin to make names for themselves. And it was in this time period that the first superstar emerged from the mass of Imperial and Rebels to make a name for himself that was hated by his enemies and loved by his allies. His name was Daddar.
Schooled in the Teras Kasi arts of unarmed combat, he achieved that rank of master faster than any of his contemporaries, and became well known for his love of ambushing Rebels who were recovering in medical centers and cloners. A devout Imperial, he took no quarter, and was willing to attack not only the Rebel forces, but those who healed them as well. He often took pains to disguise his skill, frequently claiming to be simply a novice artisan, looking for work, which frequently gave those he fought against the belief that he was an easy target - which they soon learned was furthest from the truth.
Daddar was so effective at what he did, that he was single handedly responsible for beginning the shift to Teras Kasi that began early in this phase of the war. At the time, most Imperial and Rebel special forces units were focusing on perfecting their pistol skills, and many had begun mastering the art of creature handling. Daddar convinced many that weapons and Rancor beasts were nothing compared to a well skilled warrior and his fists.
While Anchorhead was a locus of action in the early days following the destruction of the Death Star, it was by no means the only place where the Galactic Civil War was being fought in earnest. Nightly battles erupted in many of the major cities across the galaxy, especially in Theed on Naboo and Coronet on Corellia. Theed, capital of the Emperor's homeworld drew Imperials like moths to a flame, and the hidden-but-not-so-hidden Rebel base on Corellia became a haven for the Alliance. Likewise, their opposite numbers knew often where they needed to go to find the enemy.
It was also during this period that the first Imperial and Rebel sanctioned units began to emerge.
ORGANIZATIONS TAKE FORM
The most common form that the Rebel and Imperial special forces organizations took was that of the "guild". These associations were akin to volunteer militia organizations and were granted charters, either by the Empire or by the Rebellion, and sent forth to do battle for their respective sides. Some organizations remained neutral, and concentrated on building their businesses, and some came together as unions of skilled workers - weaponsmiths, armorsmiths, entertainers and others - all working to benefit their organization and the individuals within them.
Most guilds made the conscious choice to side with one of the factions, but some were open to recruiting individuals from any portion of the political spectrum. Those organizations were often short lived, with political issues often trumping even the almighty credit as the GCW grew hotter.
While there were a number of unofficial organizations that came together in these first few weeks, the first official organization was the Noobians, an organization sanctioned by the Empire and based on Tatooine. Having one of the first highly skilled architects in the Outer Rim, Bigz, within their organization, they were able to build their headquarters faster than any other organization at that time. No guild was issued a permanent charter without having at least ten members and a headquarters building, so the race to obtain both dictated the official chartering date of many guilds.
While the Noobians were the first organization to drop build a guild headquarters, they were by no means the first organizations to come together. During this time period a number of organizations existed either in name or in spirit, and merely awaited the completion of the headquarters to officially declare themselves.
The first official Rebel organization was the Radiant Shadow (RSHAD) guild, also located on Tatooine. Some of the other organizations that received early charters from the Rebel Alliance leadership included the Knights of Glory and Beer (KGB), Divine Legion (DVINE/DVNLG), Mind of Matter (MOM), Fated (FATED), House Paladin (HP), Defiance (DEFY), Bounty Hunter Coalition (BHC), Galactic Thugs Inc. (GTI), Loch (LLC), Fury (FURY), Warriors of Destiny (WOD) and New Dawn Corporation (NDC).
It seemed, however, that the Empire held sway in the opening days of this chapter of the conflict. Imperial guilds sprung up almost immediately, with nearly a dozen major Imperial organizations gaining charters from the Emperor early on. The Noobians took the lead early, but were quickly overtaken by guilds such as The Regulators (TR), The Sensations (OWNED), Fist of the Empire (FOE), Obsidian Legion (OL), Tarkin Memorial Brigade (TMB), Legions of Khaos (LOK), Virtue Et Armis (VEA), Mercenaries, Artisans and Skilled Craftsmen (MASC), The Ancient Order (TAO) Imperial Cabal (CABAL), Pirate Lords (PL), Stormtroopers of Death (SOD), Bad Boys Club (BBC) and Sun (SUN).
A number of organizations were accepting of both Imperials and Rebels, the Republic of ORDER (ORDER) being one of the primary ones. Other organizations that were non-combat oriented, such as the Bloodfin Entertainment Group (BEG), also accepted both Rebel and Imperial sympathizers.
These were by no means the only organizations during the beginning days - many came and went during this time period, as the battle lines between Empire and Rebellion still remained blurry. Troops were still green, and good equipment was still hard to find. Both the Rebel and Imperial organizations had access to equipment through their factions, but these were prohibitively priced and were rarely available except to the most ardent supporters of the two sides. They were also of a sadly poor quality, especially compared to the weapons, armor, installations and other materiel that would become available over the next weeks and months.
The only area where faction made a considerable difference was in reinforcements. A dedicated Imperial could earn a high enough rank and enough influence within the Empire to obtain far heavier personnell support than his counterpart within the Rebellion. A high-ranking Imperial could wield up to three All-Terrain Scout Transports (AT-STs), which gave him a considerable advantage over any Rebel opponent.
It wasn't until the Rebellion developed sufficient countermeasures to the AT-ST - including the use of Commandos and elite Swordsman - that the Imperial Army began limiting each individual to a single AT-ST to stem their losses. Even with their advantage removed, the Imperials quickly became the dominant faction.
Led by the confrontational Jakkard Hawthorne, the Regulators became the premiere Imperial special forces unit. Willing to accept any challenge posed by the Rebellion (or even other Imperial organizations looking for a fight) and bankrolled by the preeminent businessman of his day, Enott, TR quickly established itself atop the Imperial hierarchy. Fueled by a steady mix of propaganda and activity, TR quickly engaged in head-to-head battles with a variety of Rebel organizations, including Divine Legion and LLC. While many of the squad level battles ended without a clear cut winner, TR became renowned across the galaxy for their ruthless prosecution of the war, and refusal to give quarter to their enemies.
CITIES AND TOWNS
It was only natural that as guilds grew and matured, communities would be established on many planets. At first, these focused on clusters of vendors and businesses, which grouped together to provide services and supplies to the community at large. The first major "town" that developed outside of the permanent, established population centers was Mos Enott, located on Tatooine. Soon, however, many different unofficial cities sprung up across the galaxy focusing on trade, such as TAOmart on Naboo and various others.
It wasn't until much later that large scale cities began springing up across the galaxies. No longer simply "one-stop-shopping" locales, these cities were fully integrated with guild headquarters, city halls and civic governments, shuttleports and cloning facilities, as well as entertainment venues. Often, but not always exclusively, these cities were used as guild garrisons and headquarters. Some focused, as before, on trade, but some also focused entirely on functioning as advanced bases for the war, with military outposts, turrets, mines and other defensive systems.
Tatooine boasted a number of major cities, which included the Regulators Mos Exigo, Sun's Sun City, the Valley of Death (VoD) guild's appropriately named Valley of Death, VEA's Mos VEA, Fated's Valley of Shadows, among others. Naboo became home to NDC's New Dawn City, the Conjurers of Dread's Lake Dread, and MASC's MASC City. VICE City soon supplanted Nym's Stronghold as the capital city of Lok, and was joined later by FIGHT Club's Shadows of Alderaan, which was completed entirely in secret and came as a major shock to their Imperial opponents when it was discovered. Talus featured House Paladin's city, which was in close proximity to the TMB's Tarkin's Hold, and became a constant battlefield for nearly three months during the war. Corellia also held a number of major cities, including Isengard, later renamed to Isen.
Some of the more remote planets also hosted major garrison cities, especially Dantooine. Dotted across the landscape amongst Jedi ruins and the remains of a major hidden Rebel outpost were cities such as the Pirate Lords Sabre's Edge, and BHC's Honors Requiem. Dantooine itself became a major training center for fighters, who spent hours honing their combat skills against the indigenous creatures, from quenkers and huurtons, to the bigger, more formidable pikets and bols. A major effort was made to stamp out Dantooine's aboriginal population of Kungas and Mokks, with heafty bounties paid by the Empire for the destruction of their towns and villages that drew hundreds of combat oriented adventurers, hoping to make a fortune in credits.
In terms of the Galactic Civil War, cities slowly evolved to fit the needs of the guilds that sponsored them. The first cities lacked coherent designs, and were often merely collections of houses in a convenient area held together with a city hall and local government. As time went on, city planners honed their skills and began planning cities with careful detail, focusing on attractive and easy to navigate layouts. Tarkin's Hold, MASC City and New Dawn City were based on those principles. It didn't take long before military planners began laying out cities designed around military outposts and providing for integrated defense and mutual support. While experiments in military design occurred in most major cities at some point, the most successful of the pre-designed cities with a military functionality was Valley of Death.
VoD's "base concept" used housing to create a "compound" within which were the City's cloner and a Rebel forward outpost. Accessible via only one route, the compound was ready made for defense, but also made an inviting and challenging target for Imperial special forces units to assault. During one particular portion of the war, major battles were being fought in this arena for nightly for weeks. The principles developed by VoD's city planner, Ars Digita, were used in a number of similiar "compounds" in other cities, especially in FIGHT Club's Shadows of Alderaan, which boasted a similiar, but much larger, structure, complete with three Rebel tactical facilities.
As these cities grew and developed, the focus of Galactic Civil Warfare moved from the permanent seats such as Theed and Coronet, and into the various other locations. It was not uncommon to for special forces teams to chase each other from planet to planet through city after city, for hours at a time during this phase of the war.
THE REBIRTH OF REBELLION
Throughout the first six months following the destruction of the Death Star, the Empire grew in strength and power across the galaxy. With multiple large and well-organized guilds capable of fielding full teams of skilled and well-equipped fighters and with superb mechanized support in the form of AT-STs, the Imperials decimated opponent after opponent and completely demoralized the Rebellion. Although there were still pockets of die-hard rebel resistance scattered across the galaxy, the Rebels were scattered and lacked the unity and coordination displayed by their opponents.
It was during this period that some of the older guilds, such as Divine Legion, began to break up, which paved the way for the creation of newer, more focused organizations such as Valley of Death and RedX. Despite the reorganizations of the period, the Rebels were still unable to stand toe-to-toe with the sheer numbers of massive Imperial organizations such as VEA, TMB and VICE.
It was apparent to all observers that the Rebels needed a hero - someone like a Luke Skywalker or Leia Organa, who could recruit and reignite the fire in the Rebellion and allow them to turn the tables on the domination of the Imperials. And they didn't have to look long before they found that hero, in the unlikely form of an Imperial named Delz Nop.
Delz was a former member of a number of Imperial special forces organizations when he was converted the cause of the Rebellion. Using his connections within the Imperial units and his contacts with the Rebellion, he, along with a number of hardened veterans of GCW fighting such as Penne, Apokolypse, Ossoi, Mesk, Tsunamikata and Theguru, came together to form what they unofficially dubbed 'FIGHT Club'. The moniker stuck, and soon the roster of FIGHT Club members read like a "who's who" of the survivors of the Galactic Civil War.
Immediately, FIGHT Club challenged the Imperials domination of the server. Eager to destroy this newest upstart that threatened Imperial control, the Imperials gladly took up the gauntlet thrown down by FIGHT and proceeded to battle across every major system in both the Outer Rim and Core Systems. The Rebellion was reborn, and organizations that had ceased actively opposing the Empire became reinvigorated and redoubled their efforts. Months of Imperial control seemed at an end.
While the fights were many and the outcomes varied, the constant head-to-head fighting has a major effect on the rest of the Empire and Rebellion, and a period of some of the heaviest fighting since Yavin 4 erupted throughout known space. Some of the battles were squad versus squad, and others became full-scale battles on a truly epic scale.
The most memorable of these, and the best documented by Rebel and Imperial historians and contemporaries was the Battle of Mos Exigo.
BATTLE OF MOS EXIGO
The battle began, as they often do, over nothing. A detachment of FIGHT club troops, spoiling for a fight, rolled into Mos Exigo. The city was nearly deserted, except for a few random Imperial crafters, as the Regulators were involved in an Imperial action to quell the Nightsister on Dathomir, and had left Exigo relatively undefended. TR was supplemented by a squad of special forces from DREAD, one of their allied units.
The FIGHT Club detachment continued demonstrating inside Mos Exigo, before pulling out of the city and regrouping to await the expected landing of Imperial troops in Exigo. They regrouped outside of the town on a small hill within easy reach of the shuttleport.
Communications at the time were spotty, but the Imperial forces were alerted to the presence of the Rebels inside Exigo's borders, and recalled all of their scattered forces to regroup on Tatooine to push the insurgents out of their city and off the planet.
Unaware of the enemy's dispostions, the Imperials landed in Exigo and fanned out to search for the Rebel presence. At first, they were confused, the Rebels being outside their radar range, but they soon located the FIGHT unit outside town, and immediately were ordered into a frontal assault on the hill.
The Rebels, prepared for the assault, immediately counterattacked. The fighting was fierce, but the Imperials outnumbered and outgunned the Rebels, who were cleared from the hill. Realizing that what they believed was a small detachment of FIGHT club was really a major force of Rebel troops, the Imperials, who by now were under command of Jakkard Hawthorne, began to plan for a major assault on the city.
The Rebel forces regrouped in SUN City, the nearest population center on Tatooine to Mos Exigo, which had been deserted, as many of the members of the SUN organization had been reassigned or had retired. Using the cantina as their base of operations, they treated their wounded troops, and prepared for a battle.
The Imperials, heartened by the victory on the hillside, became aware that the Rebels were massing in SUN City, and immediately marched on the city. A vicious battle ensued, but the Rebels were fighting on familiar territory - having frequently used SUN City as a base for Krayt Dragon hunts - and were reinforced, now outnumbereing the Imperials. The battle lasted less than half an hour, with the Rebels routing the Imperials, who limped back to Exigo to rearm and refit.
Luckily for the Imperials, a lone SUN militia member remained in the city, and was able to city ban the Rebels as they prepared for their next assault on Exigo, locking them out from using the shuttleport or cloning facilities within the city. This was a major blow to the Rebels, as they were now unable to retreat quickly, or replace casualties - the nearest open cloning center was in Mos Taike, and the nearest Rebel factional recruiter that could grant them active duty status was in Mos Espa. If they took major losses, they would be forced to retreat. Knowing that they couldn't handle the Imperials with the troopers they had on hand, they sent out an emergency request to all Rebel units to meet in SUN City and continued their preparations for a major assault on Mos Exigo.
At the same time, the Imperials sounded the alarm as well. Their emergency request for reinforcements went out over the holonets, and soon a multitude of Imperial special forces units were in route to Mos Exigo. Bloodied by their failure to push the Rebels out of SUN City, the Imperials massed their forces and waited for an Alliance counterattack.
It didn't take long, as the Rebels, now having the initiative, soon returned to Exigo in force, and a large scale battle developed. Thanks to the large numbers on both sides, the coherent lines of the Rebels and Imperials soon became hopelessly intertwined and the fighting was reduced from large, 20-man squads attacking similiarly sized units to one or two versus one or two across a long front in the city. Using the houses and buildings as cover, both the Imperials and Rebels fought hard, as more Imperial reinforcements landed at the Exigo shuttleport and immediately entered into the fight.
The Rebels, while intially outnumbering the Imperials, soon overwhelmed by the Imperial numbers, were beaten back. They retreated back to SUN City with the remainder of their force.
By this time, both the Imperials and Rebels had been heavily reinforced and the Rebels mounted another assault on Mos Exigo once they had regrouped. Each side boasted nearly sixty to eighty special forces troops, which was unheard of at this point in the GCW. Coordination began to break down, with communications between the various Rebel and Imperial organizations being strained. Neither side was able to coordinate effectively and both the third attack on Exigo and the inevitable counterattack in SUN City were inconclusive.
By this time, both sides were getting fatigued, with the battles in SUN City and Exigo having lasted for nearly three hours. Both Rebels and Imperials began trickling back to their bases of operation, but the battle was still not over. After recovering from the third attack at Exigo, the Imperials made one last push against the Rebels, with some of the Imperial forces being able to outflank the Alliance fighters as they returned to SUN City. Despite the good tactical choices made by the Imperials, the Rebels easily turned back this assault, and remained in control of SUN City.
Content with having bloodied the Rebels and having beaten them out of Exigo twice, the Imperials dispersed. The Rebels, equally content with having attacked one of the major Imperial outposts on Tatooine and remaining in control of an Imperial aligned city, also began to disperse, with a crew of Rebel special forces taking the opportunity for some Krayt hunting while they were in the area.
The Battle of Mos Exigo was the largest engagement of the war up to that time, and remains one of the major battles of the GCW to this date.
These types of battles unfolded across the galaxy. FIGHT soon entered into a full-time war with The Regulators, which resulted in many skirmishes across the Outer Rim and Core systems. Many of the Regulators retired at the conclusion of this period of intensive fighting, which has been claimed by the Rebellion as a victory, but was and remains disputed by the Imperials to this day.
This period inaugurated months of Rebel domination in the GCW, as the Imperials regrouped and began to form more dedicated organizations designed to combat FIGHT directly, which was commonly viewed as the biggest Rebel thread facing the Imperials at the time.
What became of Battle of Tarkin's Hold began as a typical skirmish of the time period turned into a major brawl.
BATTLE OF TARKIN'S HOLD
One of the hallmark's of the Galactic Civil War during this time period was near constant harassment of garrison cities by small groups of special forces. One particular rivalry took place between the FIGHT Club Rebel unit and the Tarkin Memorial Brigade Imperial force. Constant back and forth propaganda campaigns amongst the leadership of the two organizations boiled over into frequent Rebel incursions into Tarkin's Hold, Talus.
The Battle of Tarkin's Hold erupted as a result of one of these incursions. Mesk and Penne, two of FIGHT Club's leaders, landed in Tarkin's Hold and began to harass TMB members who had inadvertantly made themselves vulnerable to attack. The city was lightly populated at the time, but an attempt was made to defend the city. These attempts were ineffective, primarily because the TMB members attacked the pair of Rebels piecemeal and were able to be beat back each wave of Imperials. The Rebels also took the opportunity to destroy a number of turrets that had been placed to bolster the defenses of the Imperial detachment headquarters.
During the attack, Mesk became aware that the Imperial detachment headquarters in Tarkin's Hold would soon be entering into its repair cycle, during which it would be vulnerable to destruction. Under their own power, the two Rebels left the city and called in the rest of the FIGHT organization, who massed for a push to take the Imperial outpost.
The Imperials, alerted by the skirmish, began calling in reinforcements as well, but the process

SUPPLYING THE TROOPS
Enough cannot be said for the hundreds of dedicated crafters and tradesmen who built the economy in the Outer Rim and core worlds during this time period. Starting from nothing, some merely eeked out a subsistence, selling their wares and using crafting as a way to pass the time and supplement their income. Others build vast empires, and became multimillionaires, racking up the credits, which they plowed back into their businesses and their guilds. Some made their money by providing the best of the best. Others through heavy advertising and word-of-mouth. Some, although generally not for long, through illegal means.
History is not always made by the fighters, and those who fight would be unable to do so without the equipment and supplies manufactured by the industrial base. This history would be incomplete without a portion devoted to those who focused their time and energy on supplying the community.
The earliest days were difficult. Most crafters began by hand, sampling enough resources to make limited runs of goods, which were generally of mediocre quality and lacking the refinement that practice and better resources made possible in the later years. The best gear and equipment sold for premium prices, and the most dedicated fighters and adventurers were willing to pay top credits for top gear.
Among the crafting professions, emphasis was placed on weaponsmiths, armorsmiths, doctors and combat medics. Tailors, Architects and Smugglers filled out the second tier in terms of sales and respect, and at the bottom were the Chefs, Bio Engineers, Droid Engineers and Shipwrights. This was based primarily on the desirability of their wares, and was by no means static. In time, Chef would become one of the most highly sought after crafting professions.
After the advent and proliferation of heavy factories and heavy resource harvesting equipment, as well as the location of better resources and the refinement of manufacturing processes, the quality - and often price - of equipment steadily rose.
The two earliest and most prolific weaponsmiths were Enott and Notig. Both located on Tatooine, the two weapon wholesalers became the first superstar merchants in the galaxy. Enott's estimated earnings top out at nearly one billion credits. Notig and his "Blammo" shop were a direct competitor, but also did well in these early stages of the war. Enotts enterprises were a major factor in the rise of The Regulators, as they had nearly unlimited funds and the best equipment possible.
As Enott rose in prestige and absorbed steadily increasing market saturation, a whispering campaign began across the holonets regarding a weaponsmith of even greater skill. His location was a highly kept secret, but it was believed that he operated on Dathomir - this being during a time when the Empire had not forbidden settlement of the planet. The rumors grew steadily, until the "Dathomir weaponsmith" became the stuff of legend. To this day there has been no confirmation of an actual arms dealer on Dathomir that would explain where this rumor began. Nevertheless, the crafter of Dathomir has passed into the history of the early days of the GCW.
Arms manufacturing business was cyclical business. As resources and techinques were perfected, a number of new crafter stepped up to take on Enott. These included Corede, Czar, Fishmolek, Roi, Shert, Wildcat and ZarnKano.
Amongst the most controvesial weaponsmiths of the server was Brownring. Highly regarded as one of the best weaponsmiths ever in the business, his reputation was tarnished when he was arrested and jailed by the Empire for counterfeiting over a billion credits, which he then used to stifle competition and buy out stocks of the best resources. There was, for a time, a "Free Brownring" movement on certain Outer Rim worlds, but once confirmation was received that he was, in fact, guilty, the movements died a natural death. Today, Brownring weapons are collector's items, and those that remain functional are still ranked among the best of the best.
Also remembered for brushes with the law were Romy of Dark Forces, who was arrested and jailed by the Empire for selling multi-sliced weapons. A number of smugglers were also rounded up in the crackdown in illegal weapons manufacture and modification, including Sysfailur, who reemerged as Syspailur and became a major weapons reseller on Dantooine.
In the period following the destruction of the Death Star, armorsmiths were not as critical to the war effort as they are today. The Empire furnished sets of Stormtrooper armor to its most ardent supporters, and the Rebellion countered that with their version of Marine armor, but neither gained mainstream popularity among the special forces units. It wasn't until high end weapons and highly skilled fighters became the norm that armor took on the critical role that it still plays today.
Of the early armorsmiths, Tenhut of The Ancient Order was the trendsetter, and his TAOMart on Naboo became a nexus of equipment manufactur and purchasing that has persisted through to this day. But no matter how influential Tenhut was, he was blown away by two later armorsmiths who set the baseline for what was considered "required" equipment in the Civil War.
Tasius, who also operated under the names of Travolta and Kif, became the Rebellion's greatest armorsmith, with his high end Composite Armor being the most sought after equipment around the galaxy, full suits easily selling for millions of credits. His armor was cited as one of the primary reasons for the rise of FIGHT Club, the elite Rebel special forces unit that was credited with reversing the Empire's control over the Outer Rim and Core Systems.
That torch was passed on to a number of other armorsmiths, some of whom remain in business today, including Ehril Gospic's Ironhead Armor, Alannis of Alannis' Elite, and RicFlair of KetFlair Industries, which remains the leading purveyor of goods in the Outer Rim and Core Systems.
Medical supplies were always in high demand, and no one sold more than Nimhnoid, of Nimh's Stims. His enhancement packs were some of the best of the best on the server, and the news of a restocking frequently found lines of Doctors and medical personnel waiting at his door. Kvork was also well known for stocking both medical and combat medical supplies. Combat Medics, who were primarily employed as aggressors, rather than healers, had different requirements, and their biological weapons were easy to make but difficult to master. The undisputed leader in Combat Medic supplies was Tsunamikata, another member of the FIGHT organization whose skill with poison and disease gave his unit a significant advantage in the war.

THE RETURN OF THE JEDI
According to the Empire, Lord Vader and the Emperor made it a priority of the Imperial government to track down and destroy the last remnants of the treacherous Jedi Order. The former sword and shield of the Old Republic had been publicly discredited by claims of trickery and treason, especially following the attempted assassination of Chancellor, and later Emperor, Palpatine by Jedi Master Mace Windu and other members of the Jedi Council.
Imperial propaganda reinforced the belief that the Jedi Order was extinct, but it soon became clear that the remnants of the Jedi Order were not as extinct as the Empire believed - or wished - them to be. It also became clear that the Imperials themselves were training force sensitives as Dark Jedi began appearing in the ranks of some Imperial organizations, seemingly with the knowledge and approval of the Imperial High Command.
The diaspora of the Jedi following Order 66 began to reverse itself in the months after the Battle of Yavin 4. While Lord Vader had been tasked with the responsiblity of hunting down the Jedi who had attempted to overthrow the Republic - a task which had occupied him for nearly twenty years - it became obvious that his success was not as complete as many had been led to believe.

THE AXIS OF EVIL
REBELLION REDUX
TODAYS WAR
Attrition, age, and the inevitable casualties that have resulted in the last two years have taken a major toll on the organizations and individuals taking part in the Galactic Civil War. Organizations which have weathered many a rough time are now being reorganized and deactivated by the Empire and the Rebellion.
New organizations are forming, new soldiers are being trained, and new followers of the rogue Jedi that survived the Imperial holocaust are being seen on a daily basis.
The next chapter in the Galactic Civil War will be written by them.
