How pathetic is is that this happened. I find it ironic that I can fly across the country weraing a shirt that BOLDLY says "contract killer" across the chest wothout ever being questioned. But an arab man wearing a shirt with arabic, AND english writing on it can't get on an airplane. Whats even more asinine is that people called in to report it to security. I'm surrounded by morons.

I don't know why you're so sad. They offered to buy him a new shirt. I'm more offended by little old ladies in wheel chairs having their shoes inspected.

Had he been Japanese in 1942, he would have been detained in a camp regardless of what his shirt said.

This isn't 1942, it's 2006. That japanese internment during 1942 was a fucking abomination. You'd think that 60 years later we would grow a little more than that. He cleared security. Simple as that. His rights were HEINOUSLY violated.

Heinously? That's a little extreme. It's just a shirt. I'd think that Jet Blue has the option to deny anyone service.

We should be screaming about security fondling old ladies as opposed to some guy making a political statement.

Unfortunately, 99% of the people who have either hijacked and destroyed airliners or who have been arrested prior to completing their plans to hijack airliners have been of Arabic/Persian descent and from what I understand, all of them have been Islamic.

It seems that in this situation, unlike most others, racial profiling may be useful in stopping terrorism. Its sad to say that, but it appears to be true.

When a non-muslim, non-Arabic/Persian individual attempts to blow up an airplane and is determined to have Al-Qaeda connections, we can reevaluate this. But until then, its only prudent to give those who fit the profile a higher review.

Heh, my boss is Indian. He gets stopped all the time because ppl in security are fucking morons who think that all tanned skinned ppl with funny accents are Arabic and/or Islamic.

P.S. The Japanese internment camps were a bunch of BS. If our national security was truly at interest, the government would of rounded up anyone they suspected who was of German/Italian descent and put them into camps too.

1942 - It wasn't Germans/Italians who just killed 3,000 Americans and had plans to invade San Francisco.

Had they been able to, I'm sure they would have. Also, you just made a huge post listing Hitler's plans to attack America. Do you forget your own posts this often. I don't know why you fight these Muslims so hard, Miryia. Seems to me you want a repressive government just as bad as long as instead of Allah, it's Jesus.

I don't know why you fight little old ladies so hard. The difference between Japan's attacks and Hitler's is that Hitler FAILED.

It is lunacy for us to not screen muslims/arabs harder than we screen anyone else. It is ridiculous that my grandma has to take off her shoes in Dallas, Texas.

We know exactly what the enemy looks like: Arab Muslim males between the ages of 18-45. I don't have anything against other than the fact that they have the same profile of guys who want to blow me up.

FDR's right to keep Japanese in camps was upheld by the Supreme Court. So that we don't repeat the mistakes of the past we ensure that my grandma continues to get fondled.

I actually agree with the screening. I was just giving you a hard time. But, making a dude change his shirt. Get the hell out of here. Either he is a threat, or he isn't. If you don't think hes a threat than don't descriminate him in any other ways.

Screening Muslims is rather difficult considering that there are plenty who are not from the middle east. What is security going to do, ask them what religion they belong to? I don't think so. Essentially they have to screen middle eastern men. Except as I said before, most of the ppl that work at TSA confuse middle eastern with all sorts of ethnicities.

Simple as this. Anyone who can't contemplate my next statement is a moron. HE PASSED THE TSA SCREENING! The fact that some xenophobe cocksuckers had to give this guy a hard time is lame. What is he going to do? Blow up the plane by sheer will given to him by the words printed on his shirt? I wore this shirt flying across the country.

I was not stopped once. Now tell me. What is a more disturbing thing to have on a shirt. His personal politics aside. I feel his rights were violated.

So because he wore a shirt with arabic writing on it he's lumped with these guys? Too much writing to not make a point. The longshoremen should feel cheated.
