The following is a breakdown of the number of troops that fought, died, and were wounded in World War I. The number of civilians killed have been counted as well. This article is only a quick analysis of man power in the first World War. It does not cover other important logistics such as supplies, funding, etc.

World War I: Troop Strength, Wounded, and Casualty Statistics

WWI cost Australia dearly. Remembering the population of Australia in 1914 was less than five million, 331,781 Australian troops served on the Western Front. The sacrifice in blood by Australian troops was exceedingly high, but one must remember the five Australian divisions were considered elite troops and were used as the SPEARHEAD of EVERY major British attack from Gallipoli to the last assaults in late October 1918.

Australian casualties were 59,258 killed, 166,815 wounded and 4,084 captured. The role of Australian forces on the Western Front in particular was very often understated or ignored by the press of the time and Australian success in the battlefields was often reported as British or Empire success and military dispatches.

Regards Bob.

Yes. 1,487,000 of those are from the Armenian Genocide during 1915-1918. Greeks, Lebanese, and Syrians were also slaughtered by the Turks, but nowhere near the numbers of the Armenians.

You should visit Greece and witness some of their old atrocities. A lot of old churches that were around during the Ottoman rule in Greece have saints painted directly on the walls. These assholes took their bayonets/knives and carved out all the eyes of every saint including our Lord. Talk about no respect, they were fucking animals all burning in hell now for their sins. I'm not a big Turk fan as you can tell

Serbia

dead soliders 450,000
dead civilians 650,000
total dead 1,100,000
wounded 1,250,000

population before WW1 was 4.000.000
So we lost 27.5% population.
