kfc-bucket (13k image)Fellow employee, Mark, and I took our weekly visited to see The Colonel. I wanted to order the unbeatably priced chicken strip meal (3 chicken strips, 2 sides, and 1 biscuit for $2.99), but I didn't see it anywhere on the menu nor any signs for it. I improvised and asked the lady at the counter if they had the "chicken finger meal".

She responded with "We don't sell chicken fingers; we sale chicken strips. That's real white chicken meat as opposed to that fake crap you'll find elsewhere."

Now, one would think I would get indignant at this point, but she said it with such confidence and The Colonel has yet to let us down, Mark and I were impressed. So I said, "Well, then I'll have the real, white meat chicken strip meal."

And it was damn good.

The Colonel and I in Prague
I would also like to mention how The Colonel served me daily while I was in Prague with the wife, last year. I would eat there one or two times a day - sometimes more.

And it was damn good.

What about Popeyes you traitor? You can't beat that New Orleans spices! As a staunch believer in the Popeyes way, I do not appreciate your overzealousness concerning "The Colonel". He, as well as Uncle Sam and the Confederate flag, represent bondage and oppression. "The Colonel" just use chicken to perpetuate it. He probably had a bigass chix plant making us raise those little salmonella transport systems. You have left your first love, my brother. It's all about the "NO" flava, not "The Massa". REPENT!!

If I learned one thing about fast food is NEVER work in one:
You think it’s not crap ahahahahahh, you wouldn’t say that if
you were behind the closed doors.
You’ll be surprised what your little chicken goes through?
Like the idiot that just dropped the piece on the floor, then
picks it up, only to place it on the fryer LOL.
Oh I can tell you a lot, but I won’t
Because you know what they say:
What you don’t know won’t hurt!

You wouldn't want to see what goes on in a KFC kitchen. Raw meat left out of the cooler too long, dropped on the floor and still used, food cooked/handled by drunk employees. KFC also discriminates against physically challenged/impaired individuals. KFC will hire physically impaired people..,then force them to quit by harassing and ridiculing them, denying them opportunities to train in all areas etc. KFC cooks are subject to developing respiratory ailments caused by breathing the flour dust that also coats the walls and ceiling in a KFC kitchen. KFC is hazardous to your health!!!

KFC encourages the discrimination of physically challenged persons and males over the age of 40. KFC does this by denying that such things occur and refusing to accept responsibility.

Brothers of Chicken!

At last I have found you! I am moving from Reading UK (where we have many Altars of the secret blend, including a drive through!) to Dublin on Saturday to work permanently.

A concern of mine, was the cult of KFC fully worshipped and adored in the Emerald Isle. I can now travel encouraged that my destination is a country of true might and dependability built upon real chicken pieces and not processed crap!

I have arrived! and after much searching found KFC in the Jervis Centre in Dublin City Centre.

Praise be to the Colonel!

I was stunned by the amount of advertising KFC do on Irish TV and yet they don't have that many restaurants. Does anyone know of any locally?

Rich

Rich,

If you are in Dublin, there are KFCs that I know of in Blanchardstown (a drive thru) , Liffey Valley SC, The Square SC in Tallaght, Clare Hall SC near the airport, Bray and as you mentioned the Jervis SC. Hope this helps, Tom!

Hi All

I have worked for KFC for 8 years. I have never heard such rubbish in my life. KFC don't breed mutant chickens that have no beaks, three heads and can do the light fandango. I have been to the company who supply KFC in the UK and there is no area 51 experiements going on there, I can asure you of that. As for the druken employees that is also I think a bit over the top and I think that some of the people who make these thinks up really need to shut there computer down, throw it in the bin and go and find something real to do with there lives. I can not speak for every KFC in the country but the KFC that I manage does not drop chicken on the floor and then cook it. The hygiene standards in the KFC that I run are better than any other kitchen that I have ever worked in and I have been in catering for nearly 14 years. I hope that KFC see all your requests for more KFCs in Ireland and make you all happy.

Yours
Happy harry

I suppose expecting a KFC in Kenmare, County Kerry, would like expecting John Paul II to resurrect and preside at its opening.

I used to live in the UK and... I have eaten over 10,000 portions of KFC chicken in my life. I haven't eaten any for over two years and am going up the wall.

All we have here are those filthy Snack Boxes. Cack Boxes more like. Everything is deep fried in two week old chip fat rather than pressure cooked. Tastes like it too.

I was in KFC Enniskillen in Aug 06staff were eating chicken popcorn, drinking from the cooler (water),the main door had to be kicked open by a member of staff and the red sauce we asked for was thrown across the counter the only one working there worth their salt was a young girl who appeared to be slightly disabled with her arm. She was lovely clean and welcoming not like the rest of the staff. The chips were plentiful the chicken very good the gravey horrible, the drinks good but limited for children (only fruit shoot) the straws being played with by a customer in a plasitic container(I think bought from £ stretcher) (which I also by from) but suprized that KFC cannot afford better. I did not realize they did kids meals as there was no advertisement on view, that there was. But other families obviously knewas they had boxes for their children. Also a lot of socializing was going on by staff as they kept going outside to talk to people. A man (possibly the manager) saw there was only one girl at the counter to serve, and took I think a chicken burger and a coffee to his car when he left and a member of staff said he was going to the gym and took a bottle of water from the cooler. Why do you not have chicken nuggets at least the kids know what they are? Please come back the KFC I grew up with in Canada they did not have run down resturants and dirty people cooking the meals. PS the staff did not buy anything that they took. It was like a teenage run cafe with everyone doing as they please and no one cleaning in fact for the first time ever I did not clean up the two table we were using as I thought the staff should do something for their money.
