"From what I understand, the Pagans used to have a pretty large representation on Long Island, and now, to the best of my knowledge, the Hells Angels have taken over on Long Island and the Pagans have moved out of state," said Officer Bill Bendel, a spokesman for the Nassau County Police Department.Both groups, whose roots stretch back to the 1940s, have struggled to define themselves as legitimate organizations, while fending off charges of operating criminal enterprises.

The Pagans have compiled convictions for murder, extortion, weapons possession, drug dealing and drug making up and down the East Coast, and they have several times been the subject of federal crackdowns.Full Story...
